Where to find: Store Settings → Customer tab Who it's for: Those who want to turn the support ticket/favorites features on and off and define the additional fields in the customer registration form. What does it do?

The Customer tab contains several basic settings about the relationship your customers have with your store. At the top of the section you'll find the "Customer Settings" heading and the "Configure customer support and registration settings." description.

Registration Form Fields

"Manage the additional fields shown in the customer registration form." This section lists three additional fields, and each one has two separate toggles:

  • While a field's Active toggle is off, that field's Required toggle is unavailable (becomes disabled).
  • If you turn off a field while it is Active, that field's Required setting is also turned off automatically.

Tip: If you only want to show a piece of information, just turn on the Active toggle. If you want the customer to definitely enter that information, additionally turn on the Required toggle.

How to save?

  1. Set the toggles and registration fields as you wish.
  2. Press the Save button at the bottom of the page.
  3. If successful, the "Customer settings saved" notification appears.

Warning: If you make a registration field Required, everyone who newly registers has to fill in that field. Too many required fields can deter customers during registration; only make the fields you truly need required.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I turn off "Support Tickets"? Your customers cannot open support tickets through the store. In this case, the Support Tickets screen in the management panel also stays empty.

Why are there only phone, birth date, and gender in the registration fields? Basic fields such as first name, last name, and email are always present. Here you can only turn these three additional fields on and off and make them required.
