Tax Settings
You set the default VAT rate, whether tax is included in prices, and whether it is shown on the invoice/product/cart here.
Where to find: Store Settings → Tax tab Who it's for: Those who want to set the VAT rate and decide where the tax is shown. In short: You set the default VAT rate, whether tax is included in prices, and whether it is shown on the invoice/product/cart here.
What does it do?
The Tax tab defines your store's tax (VAT) rules. At the start of the section there is a "Tax Settings" heading and the description "Set the VAT rate and tax display preferences."
Fields
Default VAT Rate (%)
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Default VAT Rate (%) | Number (0–100) | The VAT percentage applied to products by default (for example 20) |
Tax display preferences (on-off switches)
| Switch | Description |
|---|---|
| Prices Include Tax | "Show product prices with VAT included" |
| Show Tax on Invoice | "Show tax details on invoices" |
| Show Tax on Product Page | "Show tax information on the product detail page" |
| Show Tax in Cart | "Show tax breakdown in the shopping cart" |
Tip: The Prices Include Tax switch determines whether prices are written with VAT included or excluded. In stores aimed at end consumers in Türkiye, prices are usually shown with VAT included; set this switch accordingly.
How to save?
- Enter the VAT rate and turn the display switches on or off as you wish.
- Press the Save button at the bottom of the page.
- If successful, the "Tax settings saved" notification appears.
Warning: Changing the Prices Include Tax setting affects how the customer-facing price of your products is calculated. To avoid showing the wrong price when selling, choose this setting deliberately and, after changing it, check the prices of a few products in the store.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change the VAT rate per product? The rate here is the default; this rate is applied to new products. Products' own tax settings are managed from the product form in the management panel.
When "Show Tax on Invoice" is off, is no invoice issued? This switch only determines whether the detailed breakdown of the tax is shown on the invoice; not whether the invoice is issued.
