General Settings
You set your store's core information (name, description) and whether it is open to customers (status) here.

What does it do?
The General tab contains your store's most basic identity information and its publication status. At the start of the section there is a "General Information" heading and the description "Edit your store's basic information."

Store Status options
| Option | Meaning |

| In Maintenance | Store is temporarily closed; visitors are shown a maintenance screen |

Below the status selector this information note appears: "Status changes are reflected in the store within at most 5 minutes."
How to save?
- Edit the fields you want to change.
- Press the Save button at the bottom of the page. While saving, the button changes to "Saving...".
- If successful, the "General settings saved" notification appears.
Warning: If you set the store status to In Maintenance or Inactive, customers cannot shop. Since the change may take a few minutes to take effect, if you close the store and test immediately you may still see the old status; wait a few minutes.
Frequently asked questions
I set the status to "Active" but the store still appears closed. Status changes are reflected in the store within at most 5 minutes. Wait a few minutes and try again.
If I change the store name, will my address (URL) change too? No. The Store Name here is only the display name; your store's web address (slug) is separate from this and does not change here.
