Checkout and Order Settings
You turn the rules and options the customer encounters when placing an order on or off here.
Where to find: Store Settings → Checkout tab Who it's for: Those who want to set the rules on the checkout page (guest shopping, national ID, postal code, gift package, cash on delivery, etc.). In short: You turn the rules and options the customer encounters when placing an order on or off here.
What does it do?
The Checkout tab shapes your customers' order placement process. At the start of the section there is a "Checkout Settings" heading and the description "Configure the checkout page and order process." It consists of two sections: General Settings and Checkout Features.
General Settings
This section contains on-off switches:
| Switch | Description |
|---|---|
| Guest Checkout | "Allow shopping without membership" |
| National ID Required | "Require national ID number for orders" |
| Postal Code | "Show postal code field on the address form" |
| Postal Code Required | "Make entering a postal code mandatory" |
| Automatic Order Approval | "Approve orders automatically" |
| Order Image | "Allow customers to add an image to the order" |
| Gift Package | "Offer a gift package option" |
| Terms Acceptance Required | "Require acceptance of terms of use on the checkout page" |
| Order Note | "Allow customers to add an order note" |
This section also has two numeric fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Gift Package Fee | The fee charged for a gift package. Only visible when the "Gift Package" switch is on. |
| Minimum Order Amount | The lowest cart amount required to place an order. The tip next to it: "0 = no limit" |
Tip: The Gift Package Fee field only appears when you turn on the Gift Package switch. If you want to offer the gift package for free, leave this field at 0.
Tip: If you set the Minimum Order Amount to 0, no lower limit is applied; customers can place an order at any amount.
Checkout Features
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Cash on Delivery | "Enable the cash on delivery option" |
| Cash on Delivery Surcharge | The fee added when cash on delivery is selected. Only visible when the "Cash on Delivery" switch is on. |
How to save?
- Turn the switches you want on or off and fill in the fee fields.
- Press the Save button at the bottom of the page.
- If successful, the "Checkout settings saved" notification appears.
Warning: If you turn off Guest Checkout, customers will be required to become members in order to shop. This may cause some customers to abandon their purchase; consider this before turning it off.
Frequently asked questions
When is "National ID Required" needed? Usually a national ID number is requested when an e-invoice/e-archive is issued or when there is a legal requirement. You can turn it on or off according to your needs.
What happens when "Automatic Order Approval" is off? Orders are not approved automatically; you need to manually approve/process orders from the management panel.
I can't see the Gift Package Fee / Cash on Delivery Surcharge fields. These fields are only visible when the related switch (Gift Package or Cash on Delivery) is on. Turn on the switch first, and the field will appear below it.
