Social Feed Blocks: Instagram, YouTube, Google Reviews

Where to find it: Theme Editor → left panel Components → Social Media category · keys under Integrations → Social Media Who is it for: Anyone who wants Instagram posts, YouTube videos or Google business reviews to appear on the store pages automatically In short: Three new blocks fetch content from the external service with the keys you enter, cache it and render it on the storefront. Without a key the block is not rendered on the storefront; in the editor it shows sample content.
What does it do?
Visitors want to see a living brand: latest posts, new videos, real customer reviews. Copying these by hand is not sustainable. Social feed blocks automate it: you connect the service once, the block refreshes the content itself.
There are three blocks, all under the Social Media category:
| Block | What it shows | Data source |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram Feed | The account's latest posts (image, video cover, album marker) | Instagram Graph API |
| YouTube Feed | The channel's latest videos or a playlist you choose | Public RSS feed (no key needed); optional YouTube Data API v3 |
| Google Reviews | Your business's Google rating, review count and latest 5 reviews | Google Places API |
Tip: The blocks can be added to any page type; the bottom of the home page, the "About" page and the end of the product page are the most common spots.
How it works (short architecture)
- You enter the keys on the Integrations page. Tokens and API keys are stored encrypted; they are never sent to the storefront.
- The storefront never calls the external service. The Treyza server fetches the content, caches it for 30 minutes and hands the storefront a ready list. The visitor's browser makes no request to Instagram, the YouTube API or Google.
- If the service does not respond, the last successful result keeps being shown for up to 24 hours; if there is none, the block is silently skipped.
- Without a key the storefront does not render the block at all (no empty section is left behind). In the editor the block shows representative content tagged "sample", so you can design the layout before entering a key.
Step by step: connecting
A screen-by-screen guide to obtaining tokens and keys lives on its own page: Social Feed Keys: Instagram Token, YouTube, Google Reviews. Below is the summary. YouTube needs no key; Instagram needs a token, Google Reviews an API key.
Instagram Feed
Instagram shut down the old "Basic Display API" in December 2024. Treyza works with the Instagram API with Instagram Login (Graph API), which requires a professional (business or creator) Instagram account.
- Create an app on developers.facebook.com and add the Instagram product.
- Under Instagram API setup with Instagram login, add your account and generate a long-lived access token ("Generate token"). The numeric Instagram user ID is shown on the same screen.
- In Treyza open Integrations → Social Media → Instagram Feed, paste the token and the user ID. Optionally enter
https://www.instagram.com/usernamein Profile link; if left empty the link is built from the username. - Use Test Connection to see your account name, then enable the integration.
ℹToken lifetime: A long-lived token is valid for 60 days. Treyza refreshes it itself once it is older than 30 days; you do not need to generate a new token. If the refresh fails (for example the app was deleted) the block keeps the last successful content and the status line at the top of the block settings warns you.
YouTube Feed
- No API key is needed. Treyza reads the channel's public RSS feed (latest 15 videos). Leave the key field empty; enter an optional Data API v3 key only if you want to list videos older than the latest 15 (the guide explains how to get one).
- Find your channel ID: YouTube Studio → Settings → Channel → Advanced settings shows the Channel ID starting with
UC; or simply enter your@handle. - To show only one list, enter the Playlist ID (the
list=value in the address bar). Channel ID can be left empty when only a playlist ID is given. - Enter the ID under Integrations → Social Media → YouTube Feed, test (it should say "RSS, anahtarsız", Turkish for "RSS, no key"), enable.
Quota: the RSS route has no quota. With a key, YouTube grants 10,000 units per day; Treyza does not use the expensive search endpoint, a channel + playlist query costs 2 units in total and results are cached for 30 minutes, so daily usage stays at a few hundred units.
Google Reviews
- In the Google Cloud Console enable Places API (New) and create an API key.
- Find your business's Place ID: search your business name on Google's Place ID finder page and copy the ID starting with
ChIJ. - Enter the key and the Place ID under Integrations → Social Media → Google Reviews, pick the review language (Turkish / English), test, enable.
Limit: Google returns at most 5 reviews in a Place Details response; the block shows at most 5 reviews. Google picks which ones (its "most relevant" ordering).
Block settings
Settings shared by all three blocks:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Connection status | The line at the top of the settings panel. Green when the integration is connected, an amber warning with a link to the Integrations page when something is missing. It is not a saved setting; it only informs. |
| Subtitle / Title | The section's heading pair; typography and colors come from their own groups. |
| Number of items | How many posts / videos / reviews to show (Instagram 4–12, YouTube 3–12, Google 3–5). |
| Layout | Grid or Horizontal scroll. In horizontal scroll items take their width from the column count on phone and desktop and scroll with a swipe. |
| Columns (desktop / mobile) and Gap | Column count of the grid or scroll strip and the space between items. |
| Profile link and Link text | Adds a link such as "View profile", "Go to channel", "Review us on Google" under the title; you set the text. The address comes from the service (Instagram username, YouTube channel URL, Google Maps page). |
| Alignment | Left / center / right alignment of the heading group. |
| Background, border, radius, shadow, container, spacing, visibility, custom ID | The same shared style settings as other blocks; see Properties Panel (Right Panel). |
Block-specific settings:
| Block | Setting | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram Feed | Image ratio | Square (1:1), portrait (4:5) or wide (16:9) crop. |
| Instagram Feed | Show caption | Shows the first two lines of the post caption under the image. |
| YouTube Feed | Show video title, Show date | Title and publish date under the cover. |
| Google Reviews | Show rating summary | Big rating, stars and total review count under the title. |
| Google Reviews | Show author name, Show date, Text lines | The card's bottom line and how many lines the review text is clamped to (2–8). |
Behaviour on the storefront
- Instagram items open the post in a new tab when clicked; video and album posts carry a small marker in the corner.
- YouTube videos are only a cover image until clicked; a click opens the privacy-friendly youtube-nocookie player. No request goes to YouTube while the page loads, so page speed and cookie compliance are preserved.
- Google reviews are rendered as cards; rating stars, author and a relative date like "2 weeks ago" come with the review.
- The block is rendered on the server with cached data; the content is ready when the visitor opens the page. In regions without a server feed, such as header and footer, the content completes right after the page opens.
Frequently asked questions
The block shows in the editor but not on the storefront. The integration is not connected or not enabled; check the status line at the top of the block settings. After connecting, it appears on the storefront within 5 minutes at most.
When does a new post appear? The cache is 30 minutes; saving the integration settings clears the cache immediately.
Do I have to refresh the Instagram token myself? No. Treyza refreshes a token older than 30 days itself. If the token became invalid (password changed, app deleted), generate a new token and paste it into the same screen.
Which sources were not added? TikTok, Pinterest and X feeds are not in this release; they were postponed because of TikTok's approval process and X's paid API.
