What is an email template?

A template is the ready-made design of the email that will be sent to customers (logo, texts, buttons, colors...). You design it once; then you use it over and over in campaigns. Automatic emails such as order confirmations, shipping notifications, and welcome emails are also based on templates.

The top of the page shows how many templates there are ("{count} templates defined").

Templates are split into categories

Templates are grouped by their topic:

  • Orders — order confirmation, shipment, delivery notifications
  • Shipping — shipping information
  • Returns — return notifications
  • Customer — welcome, promotion
  • Automation — trigger-based emails
  • Custom — templates you created

Template cards

Each template is shown as a card. On the card:

  • Email icon + template name
  • A "Customized" badge if the template has been edited
  • A toggle switch (makes the template active/inactive)
  • A subject line preview
  • Edit and (on non-default templates) Delete buttons

At the top there are New Template and Refresh buttons.

Creating a new template

  1. Click the New Template button; a window opens ("Create a new email template for your campaigns.").
  2. Enter a Template Name (e.g. "Summer Campaign Template").
  3. Click Create (Enter works too).
  4. You are automatically redirected to the editor page; you start the design there (see Email Template Editor (Drag-and-Drop)).
