What is a tag? (How is it different from a category?)

A tag is a badge you stick onto a product. Page description: "Create tags to filter and group products."

Category vs. Tag difference (it's confusing, let's explain):

  • Category: The main group/shelf the product belongs to (T-shirt, Phone). Each product usually falls into specific categories.
  • Tag: A cross-cutting mark, independent of the category. Like "New Season", "Sale", "Organic". You can stick the same tag onto products from different categories.

Example: You can give the "New Season" tag to a t-shirt, a shoe and a bag; even though their categories are different.
