Customers — Overview

This is where you see the list of customers who have signed up (registered) to your store and each one's profile; you can also add new customers manually.

Where to find: Left menu → Customers Who it's for: Anyone who views, adds and manages the customers registered to their store In short: This is where you see the list of customers who have signed up (registered) to your store and each one's profile; you can also add new customers manually.

What is the Customers section?

When a person becomes a member of your store (signs up), a customer record is created here. The Customers section is where these registered users are listed and reviewed one by one.

Wording confusion (important): In this application, "Customer" and "Member" mean the same thing — a user registered to your store. The left menu and page title say "Customers"; but on the add button and in the form you'll see expressions like "Add Member" and "New Member". Both refer to the same person.

There are two screens

  1. Customer List: The screen where all customers appear in a table. From here you add, edit and delete customers. → Customer List (and Adding a Customer)
  2. Customer Profile: The screen that opens when you click a customer, showing that person's information, orders and addresses. → Customer Profile

What is it used for?

  • Viewing and updating your customers' contact information.
  • Reviewing a customer's past orders and saved addresses.
  • Manually adding a customer you know through channels like phone/in-store (for example, before opening a manual order on their behalf).

Tip: When creating a manual order (Creating a New Order Manually) you select the customer from the list. If the customer isn't registered yet, you can either add them here first or enter them as a "Guest" on the order screen.

Customer count limit (quota)

Depending on your plan, there may be a maximum number of customers you can add. As you approach/reach the limit, a warning banner appears and the Add Member button may become disabled.
