Per-Product Detail Page

The Custom page for this product card on the product edit screen is the entry point for designing a dedicated detail page for that product in the theme…

Where to find: Catalog → Products → edit a product → Custom page for this product card Who it's for: Anyone who wants to design a different detail page for a specific product In short: The Custom page for this product card on the product edit screen is the entry point for designing a dedicated detail page for that product in the theme editor.

What the card shows

The Custom page for this product card at the bottom of the product form reflects the product's custom-page status:

  • Product not saved yet: The card tells you to save the product first (a custom page needs the product to have an id).
  • No custom page: Shows "This product has no custom page yet" and a Design custom page button.
  • Draft custom page: Shows how many blocks it has and that it is not yet published (customers still see the global layout). It has Edit custom page and Remove buttons.
  • Published custom page: Shows that it is live and its block count; it has Edit custom page and Remove buttons.

What it does

  • Design / edit custom page: Opens the theme editor locked to that product. There you only design this product's detail page; other products are not affected.
  • Remove: After confirmation, deletes this product's custom page; the product returns to the global/classic product layout.

For details on how the custom page works, the resolution order and the locked mode in the editor, see the Per-Product Detail Page article in the Theme Editor section.

Note

Custom pages are meant for a handful of highlighted products and are subject to a reasonable upper limit. A product with a custom page is independent of the global Product Page Template; changing the global template does not affect that product.
