Category Mapping

You link your store category (e.g. "Men's Shirt") to the marketplace's category once; all products in that category automatically inherit this mapping.

Where to find: Marketplace → Category Mapping tab Who it's for: Anyone who will map categories before sending their products to the marketplace In short: You link your store category (e.g. "Men's Shirt") to the marketplace's category once; all products in that category automatically inherit this mapping.

Why is category mapping needed?

Every marketplace has its own category system. Your "Men's Shirt" category corresponds to a different category on Trendyol. Before sending a product, you need to tell the system "my category here is this category on the marketplace".

The good news: You do this not for every product, but once per category. The page's description: "Map your store category to a marketplace category once; all products in that category automatically inherit the mapping."

If a product is in more than one mapped category, the mapping of the lowest (most specific) category applies.

Tools on the screen

  • Search ("Search category..."): Searches in the category name.
  • Only unmapped button: Filters categories you haven't mapped yet (handy for seeing what's missing).
  • AI Bulk Map: Suggests mappings for all unmapped categories at once with AI (below).

Category table

ColumnWhat does it show?
Store CategoryYour category (in a tree structure, nested). Next to it the product count (e.g. "4 products").
Marketplace CategoryThe marketplace category it's mapped to. If unmapped, "Not mapped"; if there's an AI suggestion, an "AI draft" badge.
BrandThe mapped brand (if none, "—").
ActionsDepending on status: Map / Map-Edit / Send Category / Delete.

Mapping a category manually

  1. Click the Map (or Map / Edit) button on the relevant row; a panel opens.
  2. Search for and select the Marketplace Category (type at least 2 letters).
  3. Search for and select the Brand.
  4. Variant Value Mapping (if any): Map the color/size values in your store (e.g. "Red", "M") to their counterparts on the marketplace. If you leave it blank, the system maps automatically based on name similarity; if it's wrong, fix it manually.
  5. Attributes: Fill in the attributes the marketplace requires (those with an asterisk * are mandatory).
  6. Save. A "Category mapping saved" notification appears.

Category and brand are mandatory; you can't save without selecting both.

AI bulk mapping (saves a lot of time)

Instead of mapping dozens of categories one by one, you can have AI do it:

  1. Click the AI Bulk Map button (the number of unmapped categories appears next to it).
  2. The system creates a draft suggestion for each category (it progresses like "Mapping… 3/10").
  3. The suggested mappings appear in the table with an "AI draft" badge.
  4. Review the drafts:
    • If correct: Approve them all with Save All (or Save one by one).
    • If wrong: Fix it with Map / Edit or cancel with Clear Drafts.

Important: AI suggestions are not saved automatically — they stay as drafts until you approve them. This prevents incorrect mapping.

Sending a category to the marketplace

After a category is mapped, you can send all products in that category to the marketplace at once using Send Category on its row. Result: "X sent, Y errors".

Removing a mapping

You remove a mapping with Delete (trash can) on a row. Confirmation: "This category's marketplace mapping will be deleted. Products sent by inheriting from this category will no longer find a mapping."

Frequently asked questions

Will I map each product separately? No — if you map the category, all products in that category inherit it. Only if an exceptional product needs a different mapping, you map it specially from the Listing screen (see Listings (Sending Products to the Marketplace)).

What does "Variant Value Mapping" mean? What you call "Red" the marketplace might call "Red (Ral 3020)". This section maps your color/size values to the marketplace's values so that your products with variants are sent correctly.

My product with variants gives a "does not contain variant attribute" error. The marketplace category you selected doesn't support color/size. Select a correct subcategory that supports variants.
