AI Access (MCP)
You connect your store to an AI app and then ask about your store data in everyday sentences, such as "list the products running low on stock".
Where to find: Left menu → Settings → AI Access tab Who it's for: Store owners who want to ask about their store from AI apps such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor In short: You connect your store to an AI app and then ask about your store data in everyday sentences, such as "list the products running low on stock".
What is MCP?
MCP is a shared way for AI apps to plug into another piece of software. Think of a wall socket: because the socket is standard, every appliance fits the same wall.
Treyza provides that socket. All you do is plug your AI app into it — from then on the app can read your store's data, but only as much as you can.
To do this:
- You do not need to write code.
- You do not need to install a new program; the AI app you already use is enough.
- You do not hand over a copy of your store data. The AI asks for the current data with each question.
What can you do with it?
Once connected, you ask the AI app questions in ordinary sentences:
| Question | What the AI does |
|---|---|
| "List the products whose stock fell below 5." | Filters the product list by a stock threshold |
| "Show me the shipped orders." | Filters the order list by status |
| "How much revenue did we make in the last 30 days?" | Fetches the sales summary |
| "What is the status of this order?" | Fetches a single order's summary |
| "Can you list the categories in the store?" | Fetches the category list |

What can it not do?
This part matters just as much as what it can do:
- It cannot do more than you can. A key receives a subset of the permissions its creator has in the store. If you cannot see something in the panel, neither can the AI.
- Write tools are being rolled out gradually. Tools such as changing prices or updating order status go live as they become ready. Which tools are released, and which of them can change data, is written in the tool catalogue; that page is generated from the tool registry, so it never goes stale: Tool catalogue
- It cannot see payment or integration secrets. Payment provider keys, integration passwords and session data never appear in any tool output.
- Customer personal data is masked by default. Name, phone, e-mail and street address come back starred out; revealing them requires a separate permission and is written to the audit log.
- It sees one store. A key is bound to a single store and cannot reach another store of yours.
- It does nothing on its own. It only acts when you ask.
Which plans include it?
AI Access depends on your plan. If your plan does not include it, the tab shows an "AI Access is not part of your plan" card and an Upgrade plan button instead of the key list.
Who can set it up?
Only the store owner. The tab is visible to everyone, but its contents open only for the owner; staff see this card:
"Only the store owner can use this screen."
If you are staff, ask the store owner to create a key on your behalf.
Two ways to connect
There are two ways, depending on the app you use. You do not choose between them — the app does:
| Way | How it works | Which apps |
|---|---|---|
| With a key | You create a key in the panel and paste it into the app's command or configuration file | Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, an enterprise (Team/Enterprise) Claude administrator |
| With a consent screen (OAuth) | You give the app only the address; on the Treyza screen that opens in your browser you pick the store and the permissions and approve | Claude Desktop / claude.ai custom connector, ChatGPT developer mode |
On the consent-screen route you never see a key; Treyza opens an access record for you in the background. That record also appears in the key list, carries an OAuth badge, and can be revoked the same way.
Server address
Whichever route you use, the address given to the app is the same:
https://api.treyza.co/mcpIn the panel this address already appears inside the ready-made setup blocks; you never have to type it.
Where to start
In order:
- Creating a key — create the key. (You can skip this step if you use the consent-screen route.)
- Open the page for the app you use:
- Security and permissions — understand what you opened up and to whom.
- Example scenarios — ask your first questions.
