ChatGPT

You create a connector in ChatGPT's developer mode; no key is pasted — you grant access on the Treyza consent screen that opens in your browser.

Where to find: In ChatGPT, Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced → developer mode Who it's for: Store owners who use ChatGPT In short: You create a connector in ChatGPT's developer mode; no key is pasted — you grant access on the Treyza consent screen that opens in your browser.

No key is used on this page

ChatGPT's connector screen offers no field for a custom header such as Authorization. So, as with Claude Desktop, the connection is made through the consent screen (OAuth): you give only the address and approve the grant yourself on the Treyza screen in your browser.

Step-by-step setup

  1. In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode under Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced.

  2. Create a new connector and choose OAuth as the authentication type.

  3. Paste this as the server address:

    https://api.treyza.co/mcp
  4. Save. ChatGPT redirects you to Treyza in your browser.

  5. Sign in to your Treyza account if you are asked to.

  6. On the consent screen that opens, pick the store and the tool packs and press Allow.

  7. You return to ChatGPT and the connector shows as connected.

If ChatGPT asks for an OAuth Client ID / Client Secret, leave them blank. Treyza identifies the client itself.

The consent screen is the same as in Claude: store selection, tool packs, read only by default and a Basic pack that cannot be turned off. Details: Claude Desktop and claude.ai

The grant you give appears in the panel as a row with an OAuth badge and is taken back instantly with Revoke.

Which ChatGPT surface is supported?

This calls for honesty, because ChatGPT has more than one connector surface:

SurfaceStatus
Developer mode connectorSupported — the route on this page
Deep research connectorNot supported yet
Company knowledge connectorNot supported yet

The reason: developer mode does not require particular tools from the server it connects to — Treyza's own tools can be used as they are. The deep research and company knowledge surfaces, on the other hand, require two specific search tools named search and fetch; Treyza does not offer those two today. Support for those surfaces is planned.

How do you know it works?

Ask ChatGPT:

Which store are you connected to in Treyza?

If it writes your store's name, you are ready. Tried-out examples: Example scenarios

Something went wrong?

  • If the consent screen says the request is invalid or expired, delete the connector and add it again.
  • If ChatGPT does not connect the connector, make sure the address ends with /mcp.
  • Other errors: Troubleshooting

The screen names and developer-mode behaviour on this page come from OpenAI's own documentation dated 20.09.2026. Menu names may change as the app is updated.
